Anthony F. Scott, 84, of Owego, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

Mr. Scott was born July 17, 1924 in Elmira, N.Y. to the late, Anthony and Theresa (Conlon) SCOTT.

He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and life member of the American Legion Post #401, VFW Post # 1371, Owego Fire Hose Co. #2, member of the Owego Moose and St. Patrick's Church. Anthony was an active member of the American Legion having served as Historian of Post #401, Historian of the Tioga County American Legion, Historian of American Legion 6th District Region, Past Vice Commander American Legion 6th District and Aide to Commander of the 6th District four times. He retired as receiving clerk for Stakemore Co., Inc. in Owego.

He is survived by his dear friends, Stephen and Elaine VATRAL and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Owego. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.
